Then I found Shoko and was blown away. I found out that not only could I use it to fix the metadata problem, but I could even get it to organize and rename my entire collection. I spent a lot of time configuring this renaming (even making my own fork of ShokoServer because I didn't like their invalid character replacements) and then, after making sure it worked for a few examples, threw my whole library into it. Might wanna look into shoko server and shokofin. Source: about 1 year ago
I've had no issues here with subtitles. Metadata can be a bit janky though, so I use Shoko and the Shokofin plugin to help: Https://shokoanime.com/. Source: about 1 year ago
The last time I was looking into this, I came across a couple of projects that are supposed to help you organize your anime library to deal with this kind of stuff, the main current one being Shoko. Some past discussions: [1], [2]. Source: over 1 year ago
The only way I was able to work around this was by setting up a Shoko server, which fixed all those issues for the most part, although I still have some issues on a few shows. I actually also use Shoko as my primary Plex agent now for my anime libraries and it works pretty well. Source: over 1 year ago
The only way to get anime metadata to properly match with jellyfin is to set up a shoko server, wait for it to hash and download the metadata off of anidb (which can take a frustratingly long time if you have a large library, since you get API banned from anidb very frequently while it's scanning, and the bans can range from several hours to several days). Currently I'm using a service that works specifically with anime to identify downloaded files via its hash (Shoko), enter it into its internal database, then rename and move the files all by itself. I know that Radarr already does the identifying, naming and moving, but I would like Shoko to handle this for me because it works better for anime in my experience. I've been running into some issues with the importing... Source: over 1 year ago
I've also heard good things about Shoko specifically for anime file naming, though I haven't tried it and it looks a little more involved than something like Filebot. But Shoko looks really nice just from glancing at their site! Source: over 1 year ago
Mainly because Shoko Anime and other anime collection clients, use AniDB as the way to identify Videos. Source: over 1 year ago
I use Shoko for my anime since it uses checksums from AniDB to match a file with the correct anime episode(s). Together with Shoko's Plex agent it's impossible for the file to end up matched incorrectly. Shoko and *narr don't play nicely out of the box, so to get around that I made a script that hard-links from Sonarr to Shoko's drop source to prevent them from touching each other's files. I have the folders naming based on MyAnimeList. I've tried using MAL-Renamer and can't access the lower part of the UI and I've tried using ShokoAnime and it doesn't recognize my folder structures. When importing the folders straight into Plex, it doesn't recognize my folders and always mistakes my "[Extras]" folder as a TV Series. Source: over 2 years ago
It's not a torrent, but https://shokoanime.com/ You just need to download the Server and Desktop Application, One you've finished installing you can set your folders. It won't automatically load files you've already downloaded, so in the Server option which will open in your browser you simply need to click Rescan folder on the import folders you are watching for anime downloads and then it will pick up files... Checkout Shoko | Shoko (shokoanime.com), its what I've been using to sort my anime and so far its been pretty great. It hashes each file and checks against AniDB for a match and can even more and rename your files for you. Source: about 3 years ago
Have a DS3617xs running a few things, among them a plex server and a docker container of Shoko Anime (https://shokoanime.com/). Source: about 3 years ago
