• Random Dropped Connection

  When gaming, I noticed that when using my ethernet, I randomly lag for a few seconds and then the game resumes. On WiFi, I see no issues. I quickly ran a ping google.ca -n 999 and see that every say 60 attemps, I get 2 failed attempts in a row... Example below. On WiFi I see no issues.   Another thing you're going to want to try is a traceroute. In a comment above, you're doing a ping test to google.ca - do a traceroute to it instead to see what hops are in between you and google. Then, pick the first hop closest to you and run a ping test to there. If that comes up clean, then do a ping test to the second hop, and continue on until you find out where your pings start getting affected by latency.... Source: about 1 year ago
