> Where is the public open chats of cyber space? It used to be every tech-savvy person had their own PhpBB instance and built small communities with that. All that has largely migrated to Discord, Reddit, Facebook Groups, and to a lesser extent: Lemmy & Mastodon. There's also quite niche and bespoke communities like Subreply[0], Tildes[1], and Raddle[2] (Built with Postmill). I prefer the Reddit style Karma system... - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
Ironically, the anarchist site that the devs used to pour scorn on, Raddle, is still going just fine. Source: 10 months ago
I would check out https://raddle.me and https://beehaw.org. Both seem to be positive and cozy spaces. They might not have all the relevant communities but it's a good start. Source: 10 months ago
My apologies, I will edit the post to redirect to the site. The site is available here. Source: 10 months ago
I've seen some other alternatives such as raddle where independent users are trying to recreate the Reddit experience with a new platform (yet it doesn't seem to use the same Karma System, make of that what you will) but I'm still curious to see where everyone is going if large parts of Reddit disappear after July 1st... As an emergency plann, what do you guys think about going to raddle or lemmy, so we still have a place if reddit kicks us out? Source: 10 months ago
Raddle.me - This has a much simpler interface than Reddit, but it already has trans, enby, ace & egg_IRL meme forums. Brooke2Valley has even joined there 🥰. Source: 10 months ago
I can't tell you yet, I'm quite new to Lemmy, but I know https://raddle.me/ has a friendly trans community, it's another reddit alternative. Source: 10 months ago
I've been using Raddle https://raddle.me. Source: 10 months ago
(Also. Here, have a shameless plug for raddle, a pretty alright forum, it's really tiny but otherwise quite excellent. https://raddle.me/). Source: 10 months ago
Insofar, I encourage everyone to leave Reddit for alternatives such as Raddle, KBin or sites running Lemmy such as Beehaw. I also encourage everyone to join Code-CWA, Tech Workers Coalition, Game Workers Coalition and other such orgs in order to keep up-to-date with union-related topics. Source: 10 months ago
For those looking for a Reddit alternative, I feel like folks on this sub would like Raddle. Per their own website, "Raddle is an inclusive space with all kinds of forums and only excludes oppressive people who espouse bigotry and/or promote authoritarian values including genocide denial, dictatorships, police states and eugenics." Raddle is also very trans-friendly, with many of the creators of the site being... Source: 10 months ago
Raddle is a left-libertarian reddit substitute. We've seen a wave of sign ups and may take a minute for mod-approval which helps weed out bots and bad actors. Hit up f/lobby and post an intro after creating an account. Source: 10 months ago
Raddle: raddle.me A platform that emphasizes free speech and open discussions, with a focus on anarchist perspectives. - Source: dev.to / 10 months ago
Some subs have already migrated to Lemmy.world or raddle.me ... Lemmy seems the more popular option. Source: 10 months ago
It also seems that creator of raddle.me and the creator of Lemmy do not like each other. The initial users of each site probably had similar view to each, and I wouldn't trust what either has to say about the other. Since the whole Reddit situation started Lemmy has gained a lot more users who mainly couldn't care less about the petty squabbles or the politics of the original users. Source: 11 months ago
Funny shitposts and people discovered non-profit reddit clones like raddle. Source: 10 months ago
I might start a SBB presence on https://raddle.me, but also...I might not. Source: 10 months ago
Https://raddle.me/ looks like a good alternative. Source: 10 months ago
Https://lobste.rs/ and https://raddle.me/ are "Reddit style" sites. Slightly different approaches to moderation and signup. Lemmy and Kbin are the future I'd like. As siblings have said they're federated - you have an account on one, but you can subscribe to and interact with communities (subreddits) on any. This is the same way that Mastodon works - it's actually the same underlying protocol (ActivityPub). - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
Don't get me wrong, I would love for traa2 to flourish, but, in the case that things do end up going bad, I just want all of us to be aware of raddle.me, in particular: traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns (raddle.me). Source: 11 months ago
