Progressier is compatible with Bubble.io, Wordpress, PWABuilder and any Javascript app.
I built Progressier to provide developers with the best possible browser-based PWA installation experience. And I can say, it's nearly as good as Google/Apple's app store installation experience. - Source: dev.to / 4 months ago
That's it for me! Hopefully, now you know how to get around push subscriptions being canceled after 3 push notifications. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me here. - Source: dev.to / 10 months ago
When I made Progressier compatible with the desktop Safari update from last October, I had to rewrite a thing or two to put the request for permission inside a click event listener. Doesn't work otherwise. I'd be willing to bet mobile Safari will have the same requirement. Source: over 1 year ago
The twist is that although it does (part of) the job of an app store, it's not (nor aims to be) an app store. It's a script you add to your existing web app that makes it "self-distributing". Check it out: https://progressier.com. Under the hood, it leverages the concept of "PWA", but it goes further: 1. It creates an installation page for your app that looks like an app store listing. With something like Progressier, you can set up a caching strategy that essentially says "cache all images located on firebase.whatever-the-url-is.com and never request it from the network after that". It would take approximately 2 minutes to set up -- no code required. Source: almost 2 years ago
I wouldn't recommend implementing this on your own. Requesting users to allow notifications is simple (in your client-side code). Showing a notification to a user is simple (in your service worker code). Sending notifications to users who have allowed notifications is a lot harder. Try integrating something like Progressier or OneSignal instead. Source: almost 2 years ago
It's built with [Progressier](https://progressier.com), which is a PWA toolkit that creates installation links like the one above for your PWAs (and a few other interesting things). Disclaimer: I own Progressier 🙃. Source: about 2 years ago
I run Progressier, which has a push service (web only) built on top of Firebase. We don't use Firebase's messaging tool though. It's too limiting. Source: about 2 years ago
Look into Workbox if you're okay writing code for that or Progressier otherwise. Source: about 2 years ago
This is fantastic news for the web. I'm adding this fo Progressier (I'm the dev) literally the minute it's released. Hopefully Apple follows the specs though, so I don't even have to do anything at all. Source: about 2 years ago
Lately, I've noticed quite a few PWA app manifests displaying a warning that until mid-2021 didn't exist (those created with Progressier always work great though!):. - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
At Progressier, we came across quite a few complex use cases of users needing completely different logos on their Android home screen, on their Android splash screen, on their iPhone splash screen and on their Windows/Mac installed PWA, so we've designed our dashboard accordingly. - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
Progressier handles opaque responses automatically so that you don't have worry about them. But if you're interested in learning more about opaque responses, why they're a problem and how you should deal with them in your service worker, please continue reading. - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
There is another caching mechanism called the Cache API. And it's available in service workers. Progressier uses that API for its caching strategy maker. You can define very specific rules for each type of resources without having to write a single line of code. - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
