  • Ask HN: How Can I Make My Front End React to Database Changes in Real-Time?
Pocketbase [0] is a possibility. It offers a way to subscribe to collections, meaning the client will be notified if any of the records in that collection change. [1] Should be quite efficient too, the FAQ claims that 10k realtime connections on a small hetzner VPS is no problem [2] [0] https://pocketbase.io/. - Source: Hacker News / 13 days ago
  • Using Google Sheets as the back end/APIs of your app
I'd like to plug PocketBase [0] for a similar use case. Last week I was looking for a place to store random data with API access, and was looking at making a Google Sheets backend, but PocketBase was easy and didn't have a 60 rpm quota. Deploying to a cheap VPS was very easy with CapRover. [0] https://pocketbase.io/. - Source: Hacker News / 17 days ago
  • Soul: A SQLite REST and Realtime Server
I wonder if it is inspired by [1], looks very similar including the "realtime" blurb. -- 1: https://pocketbase.io/. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • Deploying Pocketbase with Docker, Nginx and SSL
What is Pocketbase? Pocketbase is an open-source backend solution offering a real-time database, file storage, and seamless user authentication with OAuth integration, all readily available right out of the box. - Source: dev.to / 2 months ago
  • Ask HN: What two software products should have a kid?
Browsing HN, GitHub and the like we get to see a huge variety of software products and code bases. I often see products and think - if this product X, got together with Y, it would be pretty cool - kind of like if they had a kid together. Not too literally, but more on the conceptual level - my level of programming is low. E.g. Just some.... - pocketable.io & datasette (+with some more charting)... - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
  • Ask HN: What development tools are you using for your current project?
I'm working on a personal project and found myself looking for an alternative to Postman/Insomnia this morning. This made me realize I've been using the same tools for so long for work (mobile development, finance) that this project may be a good time to try out some new things. Here are a few tools that I've been using lately that I really enjoy: https://pocketbase.io/ - A dead-simple self-hosted... - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
  • Show HN: Build your startup or side project faster with these SaaS templates
Really hard to find projects related Go and HTMX but I found pocketbase it is based on Go. Interesting and seems promising - https://pocketbase.io/ based on sqllite but great for simple SaaS products. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • Simple easy n’ quick to develop stack?
For BaaS / PaaS I’ve been dying to try out https://pocketbase.io/. Source: 5 months ago
  • NextJS App Router with Pocketbase SSR setup
Pocketbase is an open-source backend solution with a single executable file. It utilizes an embedded SQLite DB and offers features like Realtime Database, Auth, File Storage, and an Admin Dashboard. This makes it a suitable option for small to medium-sized projects where alternatives like Supabase might be excessive. Pocketbase runs efficiently on a small VPS and can handle thousands of users with ease. - Source: dev.to / 5 months ago

  • Why you should probably be using SQLite
I’ve been using Pocketbase[0] on my projects and I can’t recommend it enough. It is built on a SQLite db and has real-time pub/sub capabilities. Its JS SDK is incredibly easy to use and setup for CRUD as well. For side projects and some medium tasks, I’d say SQLite/Pocketbase has been super easy to work with. • Show HN: SpacetimeDB – The database that replaces your server
Really cool project, thanks for making it available for others to look at. It really reminds me of https://pocketbase.io/ which has sorta the same idea and can be extended with go/js. How does the database work under the hood? Is it also based on sqlite? Are rust modules built with a special runtime in mind like tokio or? - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
  • Is it possible to embed a back-end along with a database in a tauri app?
I'll have to deal with a similar problem in a few days and was wondering if PocketBase would be a good choice. Source: 10 months ago
  • What's the easiest way to create an account creation and login functionality?
Supabase is good. PocketBase is another one. Source: 10 months ago

Please take a look at https://pocketbase.io, it only works with SQLite though. Source: 10 months ago
  • Proper stack for static web catalog
Definitely use some sort of database. I would recommend sql. I don't think it matters much which sql database you go with. Look into PocketBase if you want to add to your db easily and don't wanna to make an admin interface. Source: 11 months ago
  • Scraping Archives of Nethys for fun and profit
I'll make another post in the future documenting the process I will use to upload this data to pocketbase. - Source: dev.to / 11 months ago
  • Is firebase easy to use and more important, cheap?
Personally I'd stay away from it if you expect to get lots of traffic, or consider hosting Pocket Base. Source: 11 months ago
  • Go for hackathons?
I've used PocketBase (with some server-side functionality added) at a hackathon before, it was really nice and we got our backend done in ~10 ish hours. Source: 12 months ago
  • Recommendations on API/backend and auth?
Use Pocketbase. It is a full open-source backend written in GoLang and uses SQL lite for its database. Source: 12 months ago
