Yup, I now use these and they are much better than paperlike screen protectors at creating friction for writing AND minimise noise. I got mine from https://pen.tips (pricey, but I've been happy; I'm sure budget versions are available...). Source: about 1 year ago
If you don’t want to add a film to the screen try looking at the silicone pen tips that are available. It’s just a small silicone cap that slips over the Apple Pencil tip to create some resistance. I haven’t tried them yet but these guys get pretty good reviews https://pen.tips. Source: about 1 year ago
There are also third party replacement nibs for the Pencil that would add friction, as well as silicone covers that go over the original nib. I have a few of those and they work well, but you tend to lose them, which is probably why they come in boxes of like, ten. This company makes both, as well as a magnetic matte screen protector that you can put over the glass (like the other person already suggested):... Source: over 1 year ago
I just got generic ones from amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09NQX2V19 https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09Y3BSDPH There's https://pen.tips if you want the 'proper' ones but I've been perfectly satisfied with the cheap stuff so far. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
So there is built in support with it in the native Apple programs now such as notes, you just have to select the pencil which has an "A" on it and it will automatically convert whatever you write into text. If you don't use the handwriting pen you can write something using the normal pen, tap it, and then tap "Copy as text" and you can then paste whatever you've written as text. There is also a feature called... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
I have mine from https://pen.tips/ and it is really nice. It might cost a little bit more than one from amazon, but the quality is great. Source: over 1 year ago
I too hate drawing on the smooth glass, but I've never had great experiences with paper-like screen covers. I got some Pen Tips that seems to be a better solution for the moment. Source: almost 2 years ago
When you don’t want to use a paper-like screen protector. I use these: https://pen.tips/. Source: about 2 years ago
Have you tried the Apple pencil tips made by Pen Tips? I've had them for about a week or so and have been really liking them. They provide a little friction so the apple pencil isn't so clickly on the iPad. Source: over 2 years ago
I don’t love the textured screen protectors, but really like these silicone pen tips: https://pen.tips Worth a try if the protector doesn’t do it for ya! Source: almost 3 years ago
It's called Pen Tips (http://pen.tips/). If you have them already - awesome, let me (and others) know what you think. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them. Source: almost 3 years ago
Actually, just before I got the notification of your reply, I noticed that Paperlike had emailed me that they had a journal PDF for free to download. I downloaded it and it's like a free agenda journal and very nice looking. I imported it into Goodnotes about 5 minutes ago and looked at it. I'm actually thinking of maybe trying my hand at journaling with the pen after all. I really want to practice my handwriting... Source: almost 3 years ago
These are a little more expensive but worth every penny: https://pen.tips/. Source: almost 3 years ago
I just use pen tips instead of a screen protector. Basically a cover for the tip of the Apple Pencil that gives you more grip when drawing and reduces the sound the pencil makes against the glass screen. Source: almost 3 years ago
The paperlike screen protector wore down my Apple Pencil pretty fast I got rid of it and switched to pen tips which have been pretty useful so far. Pen tips website. Source: almost 3 years ago
The major MAJOR MAJOR con is that your pencil nib wears down 10000x faster. So the alternative is... This tip thing that someone invented, which supposedly creates the same effect. If you want to invert your choice because you feel the glass would be better for you, I would recommend this. The reviews are good; however, I’ve never used it myself. The demo is shown writing on Goodnotes, so that’s cool. Source: almost 3 years ago
Apparently these are the ones some professional artists are getting. Source: about 3 years ago
Oh, by the way talking of tips... These things keep getting advertised to me in my Instagram feed https://pen.tips/ ... Might they help with the slippery problem? Source: about 3 years ago
