Social recommendations and mentions

We have tracked the following product recommendations or mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you see what people think about P2 and what they use it for.
  • If You're Remote, Ramble
Long back, I used to set up P2 for teams, inspired WordPressโ€™s theme-based personal/team updates. The current theme seem to have changed over time but the early versions where tweet-ish kinda flow of events which people/team wrote. https://wordpress.com/p2/. - Source: Hacker News / 12 months ago
  • FreeWP Is Here to Shake Up the WordPress Ecosystem
I presume WP2 is a play on Automattic's P2 theme, now also available on WP.com https://wordpress.com/p2/. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
  • I don't want this to happen to my own startup. What do you recommend?
You already mentioned documentation. Good! Document everything. Why you chose X method over Y, or this framework over that. This helps later with onboarding and when people want to come up with suggestions, because they can see you already did explore this option earlier on so why bring it up again? Doucmentation really requires a culture of openness and transparency. Some people do not like to work this way,... Source: about 3 years ago
  • Public consultation - how?
You could always upload/embed the pdf as part of a "post" and then use the comments section of the post to discuss. The P2 theme might also be an option as its discussion functionality is better than just straight up blog comments: https://wordpress.com/p2/. Source: almost 4 years ago
  • Ask HN: How do you ensure everyone on the team is heard on Slack?
    - Most deep discussions happen on blog posts including project status. We use (and built) https://wordpress.com/p2/. We donโ€™t use email. - Source: Hacker News / about 4 years ago
  • Writing for Distributed Teams (2021)
Yes it does! https://wordpress.com/p2/. - Source: Hacker News / about 4 years ago
  • How to Write More Clearly, Think More Clearly, and Learn Complex Material [pdf]
Actually, Automattic, the distributed company behind WordPress uses blogs for this. Each team has their own 'blog' and you can link them, comment, etc. Then there are company wide blogs with different topics, watercooler blogs, etc. Really useful to refer to revisit past decisions and as a company wide knowledgebase. They even created a product out of it: https://wordpress.com/p2/ Disclaimer: I work there, but on... - Source: Hacker News / over 4 years ago
  • I run a fully-remote startup with ~25 people. This is how we communicate across ~8 time zones.
Threads looks neat, similar to https://friday.app/ or https://wordpress.com/p2/. Source: over 4 years ago
  • Can Slack-mania be cured with systemized discipline?
Has anyone used P2 (by Wordpress) as a replacement for Slack? https://wordpress.com/p2/ It seems most similar to FB Workplace from what Iโ€™m reading. - Source: Hacker News / over 4 years ago
  • 70% of startups offer remote work options as hiring heats up, YC data shows
In my opinion, any tool that allows teams/individuals to publish/post updates and subscribe to other teams/individuals' posts or updates can work, such as: - https://friday.app/ - https://wordpress.com/p2/ - https://www.yammer.com/ (is this still a thing? Used it like 10 years ago) - etc... We also used slack for ephemeral, one off, non important stuff. And then a lot happens also in READMEs, Pull Requests, Gitlab... - Source: Hacker News / over 4 years ago
  • A system to have a "file" for each of our clients
Look into something like p2 (https://wordpress.com/p2/) and see if that will work for you. Automattic uses it for internal communication and it may be a quick solution for what you are trying to do. Source: over 4 years ago
  • Blogger has bad UX and it annoys me
The P2 theme was pretty good when I worked at WordPress (see older version here https://kodedansk.wordpress.com/). They seem to have added some bells and whistles since then, but it looks like the intention is the same - content first, and make the presentation get out of the way. https://wordpress.com/p2/. - Source: Hacker News / almost 5 years ago
