  • Instagram DM only app
Like I said. It nextdns(nextdns.io) you can configure everything in this webpage. And follow the step based on your devices(in android <12 then use IP nextdns provided. If it blocked. You can use intra and use DoH or if android >13 just copy DoH option from nextdns). In privacy>blocklist, you need trial and error. As I dont remember what list I use. And I also use many multiple adsblock+privacyblock. But dont... - Source: Reddit / 4 days ago
  • Trying to get router to block ALL porn, but it ignores everything I do. What am I doing wrong?
I use nextdns and force all dns from firewall so if any user sets their dns manually thr router still forwards it all to nextdns. They have a frew plan for 300000 queries which is enough for most home users. I pay for the business one for work and works great. https://nextdns.io/. - Source: Reddit / 9 days ago
  • Is the wifi/ethernet offered by Universites completely safe from tapping?
Change your dns (nextdns or 1.1.1.1 ~ more stable and lesser latency, use their warp if using for circumvention of in university blocked websites although a vpn qould be much better), use a reputed vpn like mullvad or proton preferably mullvad. - Source: Reddit / 8 days ago
  • Microsoft Teams - Work version fails to connect to Tenant
I check my threat protection logs and I dont see anything. I use nextdns.io for filtering my dns requests but ive disabled it and changed my systems DNS servers to point at Google instead. Same thing. I am at a loss as to what else to check? - Source: Reddit / 10 days ago
  • Fed up of Ads
Adblock via DNS services like https://nextdns.io even block some in app ads. Running PiHole on your local network is also great. - Source: Reddit / 11 days ago
  • Should you change your DNS server (for gaming, streaming, general speed)
1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) and NextDNS actually have significantly less latency, but those improvements are only when initially looking up a domain name so it won't affect performance unless your ISP's DNS is really bad. - Source: Reddit / 12 days ago
  • T-Mobile Reaches Agreement to Acquire Mint Mobile for Up to $1.35B
Related if you can afford it, NextDNS[1] on my mobile device has been a godsend for blocking ads. Literally amazing how much speed it saves when sites aren't loading a bunch of ads / tracking libraries. I use it on my router and mobile devices and it's made a huge difference. Re: competition being removed, that really sucks. I'm a Google Fi customer which has similar pricing, only downside is that if I switch to... - Source: Hacker News / 15 days ago
  • What is the true benefits of using Mullvad?
I use Next DNS because it suits my needs better. But there are also Qaud9, ControlD and dns.adguard-dns.com. All of them are decent options imo and depending on your use case, your mileage may vary. - Source: Reddit / 16 days ago
  • NextDNS breaks iCloud Private Relay lately
They work together, but double-DNS-ing. NextDNS does the filtering, and Private Relay does the actual DNS-ing. The status on nextdns.io will be red and say its not working, but it is. Known limitation. Probably will never get fixed properly, but it works. - Source: Reddit / 17 days ago
  • YouTube be like...
Sign up for a DNS based ad-blocker. Works on all your devices no matter where you are and also protects you from trackers and security risks. No skill required either, just copy paste an IP addess into your DNS setting on your phone/computer/TV and you're done. Set it and forget it, all for the whopping price of ~$20 a year. Most popular option is AdGaurd, but I recommend NextDNS. - Source: Reddit / 25 days ago
  • Erratic and unparallel internet connectivity issues with FritzBox 7490. Is it prioritization?
You could also setup a https://nextdns.io/ account on your smartphone, and set that up in the dns settings. My android phone is out of updates, so I use rethinkdns to set the dns provider. - Source: Reddit / 25 days ago
  • Disconnecting my phone from WIFI causes router to reboot itself
Or a https://nextdns.io/ account. Set that up, but before you enable wifi on your android, go to a different computer and add in all those android domains listed in the rethink dns log into the deny list for the nextdns account. - Source: Reddit / 25 days ago
  • How can I block a specific website on my iPhone?
Blocking at the browser level requires an extension, and as far I understand, iOS doesn't allow installation of browser extensions. What you can do is sign up for NextDNS and follow the instructions to install their app so your phone will use it as the DNS provider. That way, the DNS requests to resolve doordash to an IP address will come back and say the site doesn't exist and the browser won't know how to get... - Source: Reddit / 25 days ago
  • What upstream DNS provider do you setup clients with?
I've been looking at NextDNS (https://nextdns.io/) which has features like blocking newly registered domain names and more comprehensive phishing/malicious site blocking, which could be useful for our smaller clients that can't justify a fully-fledged hardware firewall and accompanying subscription. - Source: Reddit / 27 days ago

This is what DNS filtering is for. You can filter ads on your phone. I don’t deal with this crap. https://nextdns.io. They have an app that you can plug it into. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago

  • A good ad blocker?
I use something similar https://nextdns.io/. You can create your account and you get your personal DNS, where you can set what you want to block etc. Free account is limited in terms of monthly queries (300k/month) but I almost never go over this limit. Currently I'm at 118k queries and the month is almost over. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago

The other option is to host your own PiHole. NextDNS’s service is modelled on PiHole, and openly admit this in their FAQ. I personally host my own PiHole on a RaspberryPi 3b+ and have my traffic in my apartment routed through this. I trust NextDNS to protect me while I am on my mobile data, or in a coffee shop, but at home, I enjoy knowing that I have 100% control over my connection and DNS settings.
