NINA - controls my entire rig and run my capture sequence (also interfaces with PHD2 for autoguiding). In theory I just have to push one button and my scope should run all night taking pics of various objects. It's got a very active discord for troubleshooting, etc. Source: about 1 year ago
As u/Madrugada_Eterna already replied, Canon EOS utility&productid=tcm:13-1990612), NINA and several other tools. Source: over 1 year ago
Yeah its a remote desktop software. I use NINA to control everything. https://nighttime-imaging.eu/. Source: over 1 year ago
Sorry. N.I.N.A. Is the PC software that controls the mount and camera (and can control more) when taking astrophotos. I tell it what I want to image in the sky and it points the telescope in the right direction and takes the number of pictures I tell it to. Https://nighttime-imaging.eu. Source: over 1 year ago
This video of the comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) was taken on the morning of 2023-01-15 between 3:00am and 6:30am. The comet was 28 degrees above the horizon at the start of the sequence, and rose to an altitude of 66 degrees at the end of astro-dark. The sequence consists of 53x90s exposures taken with an 8in f5 Newtonian reflector sequenced using Nighttime Imaging in Astronomy (https://nighttime-imaging.eu/). Each... Source: over 1 year ago
Also, my camera is limited to 30 seconds too. If you want more, you can try to connect your camera to a computer and shoot from there (NINA, APT, ...) or use a firmware mod. But I guess you know that already! Source: over 1 year ago
Control you camera with APT or NINA. If you have to, use an intervalometer. Source: over 1 year ago
No, it's not mobile-friendly. The game uses the popular PC video game, N.I.N.A. And is made for mobile users. It will run on an iOptron SkyQuest 8xpc. The game runs on the following PC versions:: N.I.N.A. And N.I.N.A. Both with an iOptron SkyQuest 8xpc. Source: almost 2 years ago
Download NINA and PHD2 for management (framing etc) and guiding. Source: almost 2 years ago
I went to a dark site the other night and decided to try and get a pic of the JWST while switching between targets. I had previously gotten JWST as it was still en route to L2 in January, and it has since dimmed considerably as it's now further away from Earth. It also happened to be near the Crab Nebula (Messier 1) at the time of capture. To find it in the sky I used the Orbitals plugin in NINA, which found its... Source: almost 2 years ago
Use NINA for all of my orchestration. I enable "dither" so it moves slightly between each shot. This makes it easier for stacking programs to figure out what's camera noise and what isn't. Source: about 2 years ago
Tell me about it. Ekos and kstars make it a lot easier. I've been using https://www.astroberry.io/ but want to check out https://nighttime-imaging.eu/ some time soon. Source: over 2 years ago
Yeah I currently run astroberry which is a pre-made raspberry pi image with a bunch of useful apps. Mainly using kstars/ekos and phd2. I want to try https://nighttime-imaging.eu/ soon. Source: over 2 years ago
It's also a good idea to control the camera from a laptop or use an intervalometer. You don't want to manually take 60-100 pictures. Astrophotography Tool or NINA are good choices. Source: over 2 years ago
For others not familiar with it, NINA stands for Nighttime Imaging 'N' Astronomy and is available from https://nighttime-imaging.eu. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
It depends on the brand of camera that you have and what model. But it's actually plug and play. You just have to connect your camera via an USB cable to your laptop or desktop. You can than use some software that can talk to the camera. Depending on the brand some some software works better than other. I have a Canon camera and I currently use N.I.N.A (free) but I also used BackyardEOS/Nikon (paid) and... Source: about 3 years ago
Cool, then you don’t need the intervalometer. I recommend a program called NINA to run the capture sequence. Source: over 3 years ago
