My Abandonware (myabandonware.com) is a site that hosts... abandonware. Old PC games that have it's copyright either unenforceable or neglected and unprotected. This often happens when a company goes under, or a partial merger happens or something. A great example is Zoo Tycoon (the original game), or Lemmings. The only way to play these games "legitimately" is to buy a disc from a reseller, sometimes amazon. Source: 10 months ago
The main game I am wanting to get running is Lego chess.... Or Aladin chess if Lego won't work. But on myabandonware.com it is listed as an ios. When I tried to use PC game wiki to get lego chess to work, it still did nothing. The computer would think, the install / exit program box would appear, but clicking it would do nothing. I tried Dosbox already, and maybe I did it wrong but It also did nothing... Source: 10 months ago
When it comes to DOS games, your best bet is to run them in a DOS emulator such as DOSBox, or DOSBox-X. With any luck your game might be on myabandonware.com, which sometimes has DOSBox embedded on the website itself - allowing you to play DOS games right from your web browser (not mobile). It doesn't just look pretty fun, it is pretty fun, and it's on myabandonware.com :). Source: almost 1 year ago
Myabandonware.com is a top favourite for abandonware DOS titles. There are plenty of games there you've gotta pay for through Steam, GOG or Zoom Platform (which has all the Duke Nukem stuff officially) but there are plenty of free older games on there too, that haven't been re-released in any form for some time. The game is also not on myabandonware.com, which would be the first place I'd check for something like this. I don't think it's out there anymore, but I wish you good luck. Myabandonware will surely have some similar titles in the "educational" section. Source: about 1 year ago
Download WinCDEmu as your mounting tool. Then on myabandonware.com you can download all Backyard Sports games up until 2005, that includes baseball, soccer, basketball, football, etc. Then extract the game, mount it, install, and voila. It really is simple. Note some game won't work because of graphics capabilities, but Backyard Baseball 2003 works perfect. Source: about 1 year ago
You can download the files for free on myabandonware.com. It's now public domain. I'd keep the CDs for posterity, though. Source: about 1 year ago
This is on myabandonware.com so you could grab from there to play rather than getting a floppy drive. Source: about 1 year ago
Download WinCDEmu for your virtual drive. Then go to myabandonware.com to download many of the Backyard Baseball options from the original to 2005. It also has Football, Basketball, Hockey, Soccer, etc. Just mount, install, and play. :D The real fun is hacking Backyard Baseball and creating a God player that's even better than Pablo Sanchez. You should go to MyAbandonWare and browse by year. Source: about 1 year ago
Could it be myabandonware.com? Early versions of the site were browner. Source: about 1 year ago
It might even be on myabandonware.com, but given it's a Lucasarts and now Disney title, the odds of them ever giving something away for free are pretty slim. Source: about 1 year ago
There you will find tons of information. For games, as I said, myabandonware.com is good, and for what I've notice, gog-games.com is legit too. Still... Better safe than sorry. Source: about 1 year ago
Have you ever played Links386 Pro? It's an old DOS game, and you can find it on myabandonware.com and run it in dosbox. I used to play it in 1991 and it's still pretty fun today. Source: over 1 year ago
I've checked out myabandonware.com and that has some downloads, but they apparently do not work (I haven't tried it, I'm just going off of the words of other users of the platform). Someone on the site pointed out that you have to get it through a french website, which I'm just not really sure about. Source: over 1 year ago
In fact, most of the older games I wanna play are now considered abandonware and can be found on myabandonware.com. I still have a few of those in their original boxes at my dad's so I might as well rip them. Source: over 1 year ago
I downloaded the game from myabandonware.com and it comes in a .bin and .cue file. These are "virtual CDs" meaning you can get a program to "mount" the disks and your computer will treat them like you had just put a CD in. Source: over 1 year ago
I have attempted using abandonware websites such as myabandonware.com, abdondonwaredos.com, abadnonwaregames.net, oldgamesdownload.com, even attempts on the bay. The most success I have gotten is download of a file, but then it when I launch the application and select 'PLAY' it would not allow me to play the game. Source: over 1 year ago
My installer didn't look like that. Doesn't mean it's dangerous though, could just be a custom installer. But I got the game from myabandonware.com and it works perfectly fine. That site is pretty reliable as far as piracy goes. Source: over 1 year ago
I'm using the ISO from myabandonware.com if that helps. Source: over 1 year ago
