Trying to play a childhood favorite; I've done everything I can. I need help.

MY ABANDONWARE

I have attempted using abandonware websites such as myabandonware.com, abdondonwaredos.com, abadnonwaregames.net, oldgamesdownload.com, even attempts on the bay. The most success I have gotten is download of a file, but then it when I launch the application and select 'PLAY' it would not allow me to play the game.

Games from that era (2002) might have issues running on newer PCs. You may have to create a virtual machine and install it there. VirtualBox is free and one of the easier ones to use. Google search for a Windows XP VirtualBox Image and you'll probably find one on archive.org. You can just import this into VirtualBox and have a base version of XP that you can install your game onto.
