  • I am a professor at SDSU. AMA.
I suggest your son actively research the various career sites (glassdoor.com, indeed.com, monster.com, etc) to get a general feel of the industry. That being said, we are about to enter a large economic recession. The "mainstream" media seems reluctant to talk about this much. - Source: Reddit / 4 days ago
  • Are the HR really doing their job or not ?
Yeah, I suspected that was happening because how monster.com was marketing themselves back then. They asking for a premium to have access to their 'actual / hidden' headhunters / job posting . And pretty much their pitch was connections was the only way to get hired and without connections you are pretty much screwed . - Source: Reddit / 13 days ago

  • Can confirm Indeed is selling user information
Indeed has so many scam job offers that its just hard to use, of course CEO Chris Hyams never will do anything about it. Going the way of monster.com if not careful. Maybe dont let foreign companies advertise jobs on that site? - Source: Reddit / 22 days ago

Aerotek is complete piece of shit. Been on their newsletter for 15 years and all I get from them is stupid listings like freaking monster. Like Jesus, do some actual work. - Source: Reddit / 23 days ago
  • MLM / Pyramid Schemes / Amway operations in Chattanooga
Either I have always looked too old or too mean, but this sort of thing has never happened to me. I'm almost jealous. The one time I got suckered by an MLM may have happened because they contacted me on monster.com or whichever other job board I was using at the time around 2004, but my memory's foggy on the subject. Years later, around 2008 or 2009, a guy I had known briefly in HS contacted me by phone to... - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
  • Canada's job market shakes off recession fears, with 150,000 jobs added in January | CBC News

Enlist friends, family, and classmates to help. Let them know the kind of job you’re looking for so they can tell you when they see a position that might fit you. Start searching the job classifieds online. Craigslist, monster.com, indeed.com, and other regional sites (depending on where you live) are going to have a wide cross-section of jobs to which you could apply. • Seeking Engineer Position
Thank you. I hear people talk about doing this sometimes, but I've only ever direct networked with companies via face to face connections or connections made on the job. Would this be some sort of contact made on monster.com, etc? - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
  • staples is working harder not smarter
Not annoying at all. I'm 67 and have been in the graphic arts industry for over 1/2 a century and it's treated me well. I started out as an Apprentice Typesetter and wound up buying, owning... - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
  • Common mistake.
Monsters.com is available. Why monster.com has not bought that for themselves and licensed this clip to play is just...well, it's beyond me. That should be a thing. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
  • How Fu***d are New Grads with this Lay Offs ?
As for a list, I don't find that helpful because there are always new openings and lists will get outdated quickly. You would be better off reaching out to a recruiter and subscribe to several job boards such as Indeed.com , monster.com, etc.... Recruiters generally know of hidden openings and they have more connections so they can potentially match you with a job. - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
  • Wednesday morning I told a spam caller to remove me from he call list. He angrily said "No one tells me what to do. you're gonna regret this." and then he hung up. I have no idea how to make this stop now.

  • Contemplating the impossible...Neither of us could make it alone financially leaving a SAHM.
But you hit the nail on the head. I have no real light at the end of my tunnel, so to speak. Stagnate. I am grateful for the basics, but I worked hard to get were I am - broke "the cycle" so to speak. Raised by single mom, dad refused to work and eventually she divorced him. So this hits me hard. My wife is aware of all this and says she loves me to death, just doesn't know how to fix it or what to do. I'm... - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
