Or just go to lishogi, play against the computer on max difficulty, and copy over the moves to have the Yakuza AI play against the lishogi AI. You can even change the pieces to a set that more closely resembles the one in the game, and also flip the board so you're oriented the same way as in the game. Guaranteed win, the lishogi AI was just stomping every game when I used it in Y0. Source: over 1 year ago
I am just going to leave this here https://lishogi.org/. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
For those interested in playing and learning Shogi, take a look over at the great site https://lishogi.org -- a fork of LiChess for Shogi that includes real-time and correspondence play, AI opponents, analysis, puzzles and more. One of my favorite variants, Kyoto Shogi, is also available. The website https://pychess.org also has a ton of interesting and unique variants both traditional (Makruk) and modern (Chennis!). - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
I cheated in the shogi using this site (https://lishogi.org/) and used this glitch (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gvkZ_ruxbc) for the LAD Ishin money grind, also took advantage of a glitch for Yakuza Kiwami's Haruka's Request, but that's as far as my cheating goes. Source: over 1 year ago
I just use lishogi to cheat at shogi. No way I'm learning a whole game for a substory. Source: over 1 year ago
But! Because we're 100% open source, people can fork lichess and make their own variant websites. See https://lidraughts.org/ and https://lishogi.org for example. Source: over 1 year ago
That's just lishogi.org with some of the appearance options tweaked. Source: almost 2 years ago
As mentioned in a previous post, Chu Shogi is now available on lishogi! Here's a video series where I help to demystify chu shogi. Please give it a try! Source: about 2 years ago
Chu Shogi is now available on lishogi! Here's a video series where I help to demystify chu shogi using internationalized sets. Unlike standard Shogi, the lack of drops in Chu Shogi should be easier to grasp for international Chess players, so please give it a try! Source: about 2 years ago
You can go to lishogi.org, an online shogi site, and see which piece set looks the best for your eyes too ;). Source: about 2 years ago
It would probably be a separate site like https://lishogi.org or https://lidraughts.org (both based on the Lichess engine). Or, it might be added to https://playstrategy.org/ (which is the Lichess engine with a bunch of other abstract games added). - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
In terms of good software, I guess I have to mention https://lishogi.org/ here. Not sure how active it is. Source: over 2 years ago
More of a middle-ground suggestion just in case, but I have played with friends online (not in person) through a free and ad-free open source Shogi server. Source: over 2 years ago
Open source code, people can download, read, use and modify every bit of source code. That's how people make other sites such as https://lishogi.org/. Source: over 2 years ago
For everyone asking for a rules update maybe try Shogi? You can play online at Lishogi and it doesn't have a lot of the issues people complain about in chess. I still prefer chess but IMO it's more fun than most chess variants and needs more people playing. Source: over 2 years ago
One thing to remember: Within a margin of error, no one is ever going to play a given chess variant. If one goes over to Pychess, and looks at the active games being played, there are only a few—maybe a dozen—being played at a given time, mainly against bots, and they are, for the most part, ethnic variants like Makruk. Even a popular regional variant, Shogi, has 32 games in play right now, compared to over 35,000... Source: over 2 years ago
My experience of it has not been so positive, but I did learn the basics of Shogi as a part of trying to get into the anime more. There's an easy to play online site here: https://lishogi.org/ but I don't have a good resource for you about the rules. Source: almost 3 years ago
Nice. I play it online at https://lishogi.org/ (if you are interested). Source: almost 3 years ago
I would say it is a bit more complicated. https://lishogi.org/. Source: almost 3 years ago
There's a great site for playing it and learning the pieces here: https://lishogi.org/. Source: almost 3 years ago
I'm toying with the idea of playing a game of Shogi ( https://lishogi.org/ ) each episode. Not a particularly good game mind you, as I'm still trying to learn the pieces. Even then, with only about 20% of the piece set learned, the games take forever! Longer than the episode itself, and I'm not necessarily sure I am enjoying the game. Source: almost 3 years ago
