A very simple and easy way to pretty much guarantee an image doesnโt contain unnecessary metadata, canโt be uncropped, etc. is to first convert it to JPEG and then run it through an image optimizer (like ImageOptim [1]). Also for the web you want the best size to quality ratio - C1, photoshop and are not ideal in this regard. As someone who is a photographer and also does web performance optimization my tipp: export in C1 jpg with 100% quality and then get https://www.xnview.com/de/xnviewmp/ or https://imageoptim.com/mac' They both have the same amazing compression engine which does magic - better than the expensive jpegmini. For batch compressing and scaling photos use xnviewMP -> has better downscalling and compression than adobe or jpegMini and it is free for personal use and 29 Euro for professional use Https://www.xnview.com/en/ On the mac https://imageoptim.com/mac uses the same compression algorithms but overwrites the originals - means first duplicate the folder with the files.
