> Firefox Reality on the Oculus Go VR Headset yes, through not limited to the Oculus and it kinda folded Hubs (https://hubs.mozilla.com/) into it and and I think there was a bit of additional research level stuff never ending up in user hands but both are somewhat dead, idk. If Firefox Reality still works with any VR headset at all (it might still work with non standalone headset usage) and Hubs is shutting down... - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
Sounds like they have this huge pile of cash and can't think of a way to improve Firefox with it in any way that seems gee whizz enough. They tried hopping on Blockchain train and ended up jumping back off after getting roasted by JWZ [0] "we are reviewing if and how our current policy on crypto donations fits with our climate goals. ... Why the comment "This is that rare announcement that's far more significant than it sounds." In El Reg, which is usually rather skeptical. Am I missing something? [1] https://hubs.mozilla.com. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago

Neal Stephenson's novel Snow Crash introduced the concept of the Metaverse, a virtual reality universe accessible to all used for gaming, work, and socializing. The Metaverse-as we might know it in real life-is a virtual world being built by a variety of companies, including Facebook, Microsoft, and Sony. This visionary idea has influenced the development of open source virtual reality platforms like Mozilla Hubs.... - Source: dev.to / 11 months ago

In my case, the client was a priest from halfway across the world who wanted a virtual mosque. COVID was raging at the time, so people couldn't go to the real thing. The first part of the project was a prototype, which I built based on the open-source Mozilla Hubs. It took more time than estimated, but it wasn't too bad. Source: over 1 year ago
You can also take a look at something like Mozilla Hubs. It's essentially a dedicated web based VR Hub that has the option to create your own environments and import Blender models. Might be enough for you. I never used it but it's probably easier than learning Unity. Source: over 1 year ago
I would like to see more cross-platform virtual spaces for hanging out, places that my friends without VR headsets or gaming PCs can enter. For example I really loved Mozilla Hubs even though it never seemed to gain that much traction. Source: over 1 year ago

Hubs is a platform created by Mozilla, that allows anyone to create a Metaverse and invite your friends to it at the click of a button. - Source: dev.to / almost 2 years ago
Mozilla hubs is a lower barrier to entry because you don’t need to download a whole game. You can just give your friends a link and they also don’t need VR either. https://hubs.mozilla.com/. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
Ready Player Me avatars are our current just-right solution for avatars. They are available in 600+ apps and games, allowing people to have social interactions in virtual worlds while keeping a consistent digital identity. Think of it like this: in the morning, you can hop into a meeting via MeetinVR; in the afternoon, you join a meetup on Mozilla Hubs; in the evening, you hang out with your friends in VRChat or... - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
