Social recommendations and mentions

We have tracked the following product recommendations or mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you see what people think about FreeSO and what they use it for.
  • Ive probably spent over a thousand dollars on the Sims in my life and Im never spending another dollar with EA.
I understand. I’m playing The Sims Online (as FreeSO now) because I loved TSO before they closed it. Source: 10 months ago
  • Found all these games at a yard sale for 50 cents
There are private servers for the sims online https://freeso.org/ . Source: 11 months ago
  • sims online game share
It hasn't been done yet because it would either require each player to have the same mods...or they'd have to disallow mods (and the Sims games are pretty empty without mods). There is the Sims 4 multiplayer mod...and there's also https://freeso.org/. Source: 12 months ago
  • [Epic] The Sims™ 4 The Daring Lifestyle Bundle (Free / 100% Off)
FreeSO - FreeSO is a reimplementation of The Sims Online™’s game engine, using C# and Monogame. Source: 12 months ago
  • Please make "Life By You" Multiplayer
Please no... I'm happy with singleplayer. Don't mind a gallery where players can share lots, Sims, etc. If you want multiplayer wait till Sims 5 or try https://freeso.org/. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Off screen pictures of a play test for The Sims 5.
Hell, it's already happening for Sims 1 and Sims Online. Source: over 1 year ago
  • My Sims collection - I've been working on it for awhile and I'm really proud of it! :)
It does! It has been reimplemented by some developers and even improved in some aspects. It is called FreeSO and you can find it here. Source: over 1 year ago
  • lol
It's at the point where some very popular older games (eg. Rollercoaster Tycoon, Sims 1/Sims Online, Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall and Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind) are all getting re-implemented with custom-built open source engines or re-implemented into new engines by the community still playing those games which essentially means they'll likely be playable and getting new content for a very long time into the... • why does EA hates single-player games?
Yes it passed me by at the time too. There's also FreeSO which is a newer 'implementation' of the game (as it was shuttered 13 years ago!) - freeso.org - might be worth a try. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • You can never go back
TS1 was limited, but the limited graphics meant you didn't bump up against it as much. If you use FreeSO or Simitone or mod the game so it runs at modern screen resolutions the 2D graphics actually still holds up and looks nice. (The reddit post in the last link has a screenshot of the Newbie house at 1080p). Source: about 2 years ago
  • What if Sims was like an open world "MMO-RPG" ?
You know The Sims Online was a thing right? (Kind of still is in a sense...). Source: over 2 years ago
  • Any "the Sims 4" alternatives? (Free and open source)
On alternativeto.net I found FreeSO and OpenSimulator, albeit OpenSimulator looks to me more like a 3d chat MMO/ secondlife alternative. Source: almost 3 years ago
