I had a friend teach me how to cook, I mean I basically observed her doing it and became fascinated by it. Cookbooks came later. I can't remember the titles unfortunately. Easy stuff is sheet pan veggies and just bulk roasting, and then mixing with greens, a whole grain, and a homemade sauce (like tahini-miso, lemon-garlic yogurt or herbed green sauce).
