I use a KDE derivative, FerenOS. To me personally, KDE has the right amount of customizability and ease-of-use but for the record, I did try out Mint, Zorin OS, Stock Ubuntu, Vanilla OS, Deepin, Pop!_OS, Fedora Linux, Arch Linux, Nitrux, Elementary OS, Puppy Linux and pretty much all of the Linux distros under the sun. KDE was what I like best. Source: about 1 year ago
There's also Feren OS, which is a combination of Linux Mint's Cinnamon and KDE. It's a distro out of the UK. Source: about 1 year ago
Try Feren OS. It's made with windows users in mined and has a Windows 11 Layout. And I think there is a layout called classical which might be what you want as far as the feel. Source: over 1 year ago
I've tried to like Gnome, but I find it a hassle to rebuild things to work the way I want it (nevermind the worry that when things updates, I have to wait and recheck many of the extensions to update or if things breaks). I really recommend trying out more customized KDE experience like Feren, Garuda, or Xero. You may find a UX you like, and then you can just use that as basis with other distro that suits your... I've had similar issues and can't recommend FerenOS enough: https://ferenos.weebly.com/. Source: over 1 year ago
Also, Feren OS (https://ferenos.weebly.com/) is basically the same thing as mint, but with a better looking interface. Pick the one you choose, it's based on ububtu anyways, so any tutorials for ubuntu/mint will do for Feren too. Source: over 1 year ago
Feren OS (basically KDE Neon on top of Linux Mint) provides a similar tool that's set to run automatically after initial welcome. It lets the user choose the most comfortable and familiar layout and sets up the desktop accordingly within seconds. Source: about 2 years ago
For newcomers, I'd recommend distro with a UX switcher like Zorin OS (Gnome) or Feren OS (KDE). Manjaro-GNOME works well too, but being Arch it can be a PITA to tinker with if something needs tinkering as a newcomer - but pacman centralizes all apps sources which makes it very complete. I'd say you'd want to play around with these distro for like 15 minutes, just to see how it broadly looks like: Zorin OS, Feren OS, Ubuntu Budgie, Manjaro Gnome, and PopOS. Zorin is what I'd recommend for very new users. Source: over 2 years ago
Or try FerenOS which also has extra desktop layouts out of the box as well. It runs on KDE (used to use Gnome), and has an easy chooser to pick which layout you want. Source: over 2 years ago
Of course, KDE Plasma is really customizable. There are tutorials online about how to do it but if you want it to come ready after install them try FerenOS and is based on Ubuntu as well. It has a layout exactly like Ubuntu. Check it out here: http://ferenos.weebly.com/. Source: almost 3 years ago
As I read more about this distro I was a bit unnerved, as FerenOS is described as a "pseudo-rolling-release" distribution (and curiously based on Ubuntu):. Source: about 3 years ago
