Another option is to download an app onto your iPhone that allows for file transfers using iTunes, like Documents by Readdle. Then you can use the instructions from Apple about File Sharing, but you will see Documents in the list instead of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote like in their screenshots. Source: almost 2 years ago

Ah Airdrop alternative is Documents by Readdle. Its a fantastic app and super easy to connect to my pc via their website. You put a 4 digit code and it makes a local connection to your iOS device and then you can drop and drag. Also it has a good video player and pdf reader. I highly recommend. I use it to drop some series or movies from Windows 10 to my iPad. Source: about 3 years ago
I use documents. Set up samba on linux and connect to it from the app. You can even draw in pdf and it will sync back. There is an option to have "local copy" in app and sync it with linux. Dm if have any questions. Source: about 3 years ago
