More recently I've been working with Kinsta. Although they are more expensive, the platform is way more developer friendly. You can manage your own deployment pipeline through GIT or use their DevKinsta development tool. They also offer application hosting. The biggest attraction to me is their support and CDN which automatically optimises images and serves WebP. Source: almost 2 years ago
Sorry, I thought Laragon was cross platform. DevKinsta runs on Linux. You might give it a try. It requires Docker. https://kinsta.com/devkinsta/. Source: about 2 years ago
You can use local server for development (e.g. Local WP or DevKinsta...). When you create a new website, wizard will ask you for an address - simply provide domain of old website. It will work without any problems 👍 Then when you finish new website all you need to do will be transferring files and database and update wp-config.php database connection settings 😋. I recently used Dev Kinsta to test some theme options for a project. I was quite happy with the results. - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
I wrote this script to run on my Macbook - https://github.com/systmweb/valetpress also have a look at DevKinsta which is great https://kinsta.com/devkinsta/. Source: over 3 years ago
There are two local development environment apps for WP with nice UIs (localwp and devkinsta), both can deploy to their parent hosting services and are the easiest way for devs afaik. Source: over 3 years ago
The easiest way is by using localwp or DevKinsta (they also have a Windows and Linux version I think). Both also have hosting services that you can push to from those tools, but you could also export your site with a backup/migration tool and upload it to another WP host. Source: almost 4 years ago
I'm just tinkering around with a local DevKinsta WP environment which is Docker based. According to Query Monitor it's based on a nginx fastcgi linux image. I'm wondering if I could just take it and host it on a VPS. I have no clue about Docker but maybe that's something you want to try out youself. Source: almost 4 years ago
