  I also said in a comment below, I use YNAB to track my financial life. This strategy only works if you have enough confidence in your finances to know that if I gave you a card with 100k credit limit, you would never spend more on it than what you have in your bank and has been budgeted for.   However! A determined user can still do something like load the app on a phone in an Android or iOS simulator, then watch all outgoing API calls and basically reverse-engineer how things work.
