  • Most seamless ways to tag and integrate a library of wavs by (musical) key for easy access within your DAW?
There's a Mac application called Yate which is a music library manager. It can query AcoustID, MusicBrainz, and Discogs and re-tag your files and move/copy them to whatever directory structure you like (doesn't have to rename the files). Extremely complex but has a very powerful scripting engine so you can do essentially anything with it. You could organize by key, BPM, release year, record label... Or all of the... • Yate MP3 Tagging Utility
Tip for the community if you’re a KJ or enthusiast who uses a Mac. There is a utility called Yate that is a Swiss Army knife for ID3 tagging, file renaming etc etc. Complex, but very powerful.. Anyway, I wanted to use it to cleanup some of the tags and file naming on my collection. Since I Use CDG’s it was important that they match the MP3 file name before the suffix. I contacted the developer and he churned... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Open a folder in two apps at the same on time?
With Mac OS, is there a way to open a folder in two apps at the same time? I will often drag a folder containing music files to the task bar, onto to an app icon in order to load the files. Usually I'll do this once for IINA to play the files and repeat the process for Yate so that I can edit the metadata while I listen. Ideally, I would like to do this with a single action. Every morning, without fail, the journey begins with a hunt for content. I check trending GitHub repositories to stay updated with the latest in tech.
