• An idea concerning the potential of Payday 3's servers shutting down, and a lead on what to do about it

  Here's my two cents: if somebody can look at what makes the online-only parts of the code tick, we might be able to engineer a sort of workaround that makes Payday 3 believe that the servers are still online. An example of the kind of thing I'm talking about is Wiimmfi; the Wii's online servers were deactivated, but there exists a workaround that brings them back to life, as it were. • Mkwii wiimmfi not connecting

  Heyo, ive had tons of trouble with setting up my wiimmfi on my mkwii iso, and I cant find any threads that have helped. Im running a patched iso through usbgx, (2tb hard drive in wbfs) and the core game runs fine, but the wii softlocks at the connecting to wiimmfi screen. Ive tried a bunch of different options with the private server setting, (from off, to wiimmfi, to wiimmfi.de.) ive also tried manually setting... Source: 9 months ago

  If you launch MKWii from a USB loader, it's just as simple as going into the game-specific settings in the USB loader, then setting the private server to wiimmfi.de. Source: 11 months ago

  The mystery gift distribution for the ds titles is not an exploit and I have no idea where that notion came from. Ds and wii fan servers are being deliberately hosted by the guys at wiimfi and, as part of that, they've enabled every past pokemon wifi event. 3ds and wii u multiplayer servers are still up so there's been no need to set up fan servers yet. • is there an easier way to access Gen 4 Pokémon GTS?

  If you are asking instead how to still do gen4 trading even tho nintendo shut off the servers I recommend taking a look at "https://wiimmfi.de/" they host a fake nintendo server so trading works again. Source: about 1 year ago

  Look at Wireguard. I know you don't want Yet Another VPN running alongside your IPSec, but it's less VPN and more encrypted point-to-point UDP. You can set it up on any port you wish, including common ports that might be open on an outbound smart firewall not doing deep packet inspection.   Both products are based off Wireguard which is available for all new linux distributions. https://wireguard.com . I'm not saying OP's solution is wrong, just curious what the advantages are. Other than potentially simpler client setup, what are the advantages of paying for tailscale. With the opensource tailscale, I'm not sure if you get access to an api you can use to look up the hosts.
