Check out https://weatherspark.com. You can view any city and see what the historic high/low/averages are, precipitation, etc. This can at least give you a range of what to expect. Once you're less than a week out, of course you can look at forecasts to adjust from there. Source: 6 months ago
If you go to ventusky.com it will show you the weather day by day for the last 40 years. I checked the infamous Patagonia winds and found there doesn't seem to be a way to avoid them. There was a stretch by El Calafate where the wind was channeled through a canyon and I could not move forward with a 1200cc moto due to buffeting on my windscreen; I've never experienced winds like that before or since. I always check ventusky.com for local weather conditions. Wind gusts or in this case , a snow storm to the west and freezing temperatures.
