Other games have a second layer of prestige, but one of the factors for how the second prestige points are calculated or the requirement to do the second layer of prestige is based on how many times it has been done before, so doing it before intended too many times will halt progress, and delaying it longer than expected will result in faster and faster progress (games I can think of are War Clicks, Idle Space... A small, unique, tractable webgame might help market the community, especially if it's built around a good story. Save for the early oughts timeframe and the lack of an explicitly high fantasy setting, A Dark Room (2013), one of the earlier lo-fi idle games, seems to somewhat fit the bill: given the browser-based interface, a mostly gray scale UI, an on-screen world map (available in the later phases of the game), and the lack of leveling in favor of infinite progression.
