  • RCP OC: Could a (very small) fangame be tractable?
However, we do have pretty good artists, some solid animatics of the bigger RCPs, and some pretty decent codefriends. A small, unique, tractable webgame might help market the community, especially if it's built around a good story. A weird, interesting little game like paperclip maximizer or dark room could perform very well - those always seem to get substantial traction. Likewise, a short visual novel with solid... • Looking for a MUD I used to play
Save for the early oughts timeframe and the lack of an explicitly high fantasy setting, A Dark Room (2013), one of the earlier lo-fi idle games, seems to somewhat fit the bill: given the browser-based interface, a mostly gray scale UI, an on-screen world map (available in the later phases of the game), and the lack of leveling in favor of infinite progression. • Things that FEEL a lot cooler than they actually LOOK?
Looking as an outsider you will see a bunch of weird-ass ASCII art that doesn't even look that good compared to, say, Candy Box, while as the actual player you're actually wrestling an eldritch beast made of deadly gas into the ground as you pulp it with a dead giant's body. • Game for the office?
Not really like the games you mentioned but Candy Box 2, A Dark Room, and Kittens Game are some of the best browser-based idle games ever. Source: over 1 year ago
  • [Web][After 2010?] Incremental Game website
Not Candy Box or Candy Box 2, was it? Dubious guess but it does keep coming up. Source: over 1 year ago
  • If Cookie Clicker ever adds more minigames, the Javascript Console minigame should just be a smaller, simplified version of Cookie Clicker.
I appreciate anyone suggesting CC Classic, but since I'd expect a JS Console minigame to be text-based, then maybe it should be more like Candybox2 (https://candybox2.github.io/ which if I'm not mistaken was part of the inspriation for CC!). Source: over 1 year ago
