  • Struggles Years after TBI
The one thing that I've heard and read and been told a bunch of times is not to compare yourself now to who you were before your injury, and while there is merit to that, it's obviously really hard not to do sometimes. The thing that I try to keep in mind is that - injury or no injury - I would be different now than I was then anyway. that's just how life goes. Meditation has really helped me in this area... To... • Why does Sam describe himself as a "Neuroscientist" and a "Philosopher" on his website?
Am I missing something? I can’t find mention of “philosopher” on samharris.org or wakingup.com. I see a mention of neuroscientist, but I think a PhD degree should allow you to call yourself that. As for credibility in both areas, check citations to his works - books (philosophy) as well as scientific papers (neuroscience). Source: about 1 year ago
  • Need Help
It's cliche, but try to take it one day at a time, one step at a time. meditation has helped me out a lot over the years... If you want to at least give it a shot, you can do a free 30-day trial at wakingup.com. I've made it part of my morning routine and, though it's not a cure-all, it really can get you in the right headspace to start your day with a little less stress. Source: over 1 year ago
  • What is mindfulness/meditation in a nutshell, what is it, what do you do?
I use the Waking Up app. There are a number of free lessons available in the app. Try them. This is my "top tip". Source: over 1 year ago

  • The Humane AI Pin Launches Its Campaign to Replace Phones
Good exploration of the clip/pin/brooch form-factor that was previously explored by the Narrative Clip (http://getnarrative.com/). Can it be worn on a necklace? That seems more convenient than attaching it to different pieces of clothes and having it tear/wrench at the fabric. - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
  • Daily Photojournal Battery Life
The wearability of the Go and the new timed capture modes gives it great potential as a daily photojournal (like the http://getnarrative.com/ photo clip). Source: 6 months ago
  • Lifelogging, an Inevitability (2007)
Most of the customers of the life-logging cameras (like http://getnarrative.com) used it for tourism, or photographing their children (so they could play with them and still have some photos). Among the hardcore lifeloggers I think each one needs to figure out what constitutes a socially acceptable way of wearing them, in my own experience you don't wear them in a social context but it's fine wearing them if... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
  • Spy Camera Glasses that takes photos every fixed interval
Mainstream cameras (like Narrative clip or mecam) are too visible and draw a lot of unnecessary attention. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Looking for simple, cheap, wearable camera that can take a picture every 5, 10, or 30 seconds for 24 hours.
The Narrative Clip. I can't find this camera for sale anywhere, and it seems a little pricey for what I want. Source: about 2 years ago
