  • Struggles Years after TBI
The one thing that I've heard and read and been told a bunch of times is not to compare yourself now to who you were before your injury, and while there is merit to that, it's obviously really hard not to do sometimes. The thing that I try to keep in mind is that - injury or no injury - I would be different now than I was then anyway. that's just how life goes. Meditation has really helped me in this area... To... • Why does Sam describe himself as a "Neuroscientist" and a "Philosopher" on his website?
Am I missing something? I can’t find mention of “philosopher” on samharris.org or wakingup.com. I see a mention of neuroscientist, but I think a PhD degree should allow you to call yourself that. As for credibility in both areas, check citations to his works - books (philosophy) as well as scientific papers (neuroscience). Source: about 1 year ago
  • Need Help
It's cliche, but try to take it one day at a time, one step at a time. meditation has helped me out a lot over the years... If you want to at least give it a shot, you can do a free 30-day trial at wakingup.com. I've made it part of my morning routine and, though it's not a cure-all, it really can get you in the right headspace to start your day with a little less stress. Source: over 1 year ago
  • What is mindfulness/meditation in a nutshell, what is it, what do you do?
I use the Waking Up app. There are a number of free lessons available in the app. Try them. This is my "top tip". Source: over 1 year ago

  • Do anyone use it still with zero friends
If you use BeReal just for you, for the montage at the end of the year, you may be interested by the app 1 Second Everyday instead (or in addition). Source: 6 months ago
  • Daughter's First Birthday - present for wife
Recommendation: this app. I was a kickstarter for the app, just finished the first year for my son, and recently had a 30 minute conversation with their product developer, who seems VERY interested in making the app even better! Source: over 1 year ago

  • How are you capturing moments with your kid (video and pictures) and keeping it somewhat organized?
I've been doing the '1 second every day' since 2012 and then having my daughter, it's more of her than of me. If you're going for 'easiest' then I would just your phone and the app. Source: almost 2 years ago
