This was the easiest collaborative video I’ve made to date. Normally I struggle (greatly) with whatever free software is out there but even the older generation had no issues getting their videos onto the platform. Their chat support went above and beyond answering about a million questions and the video turned out fantastic. Lots of options for music/theme/customization. My only suggestion at the time was to see a preview of the video.... and now they offer it!!!! Way to go VidDay!
I've used it a few time now and compared to the others I've tried it just works so much better for my invites to submit. The support staff looked after anyone that had questions and the turn around for the video was nearly instant!
I was extremely happy with our Vidday video. Customer support was very helpful and I was relieved there was not an app to download. We will treasure our video forever. Thank you, Vidday!
Based on our record, Zim Wiki seems to be a lot more popular than VidDay. While we know about 115 links to Zim Wiki, we've tracked only 1 mention of VidDay. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
A nice souvenir for a teacher is a video montage of photos and short video messages of their students. A few websites — like vidday.com — make it easy to invite parents/students to upload pictures and videos, and with the click of a button, the video montage is put together and ready to share as a surprise with the teacher. I'll slightly modify your argument; because Pure HTML does suck: Why don't people make static sites with a simple "Markdown-or-Similar to HTML" converter, CSS, and vanilla JS...etc? (This is what I do, btw -- http://zim-wiki.org + a template). - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
You should add Zim [1] to the "Personal Knowledge Management" section :) [1] https://zim-wiki.org. - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
Https://meyerweb.com/eric/tools/s5/ And I just tweaked the CSS and added a bit of logic to included the possibility of one image per slide; as well as editing slides not with raw HTML but with https://zim-wiki.org (because that's what I'm really used to, I'm sure any Markdown thing would work just as well). - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
Absolutely; recently I realize I wish I'd never learned vim. I use too many other programs that are at least CUA-ish ( http://zim-wiki.org is the most important app I use ) and now I kind of want out. I haven't yet tried Modeless Vim, but that looks like my next experiment. https://github.com/SebastianMuskalla/ModelessVim. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
It is so hard not to feel REALLY SMUG reading stuff like this, as someone who has run my own website as the working primary source for my college instruction for the past 15 years or so using https://zim-wiki.org. (before Markdown was much of a thing!) It's borderline bizarre to have watched this method of doing things kind of die out, and then also come back in the form of "static site generators" --... - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
