3 Best Sites for Online Spanish Classes
Verbling follows a similar format to Italki with its key difference being that it offers group classes and class packages in addition to individual classes. Verbling has a smaller selection than Italki but this is because Verbling's teachers have to meet certain criteria before than they can teach. Verbling tries to use only professional teachers and follows a quality over...

  • Looking for online French tutor
Verbling.com is also a good platform. I am a French tutor online and I work with customers from China and Japan, send me a pm if you're interested! Source: about 2 years ago
  • Teaching Spanish to an Adult
You can look on italki, or verbling to find private tutors that will teach/speak with you online. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Online Tefl/Tesol Teachers in Europe/UK
Italki.com or verbling.com for example. I worked in Durban for a while and found that the English was of a good standard (for most of them it was their first/main language), but the accent was really difficult for me to understand. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Is it possible to learn Spanish while working at an on-call oilfield casing job?
Once I got the basics down with duolingo and kept improving I added some vocabulary and spaced repetition programs - my favorite was clozemaster. Ultimately I was using duolingo, clozemaster, 1 on 1 tutoring through verbling.com, and got to do immersion programs in Colombia and Mexico. That took me to a conversational level. If you stick at it and take your time you'll really start to grow and can have a lot of... Source: over 2 years ago
  • What are some hobbies that you suggest?
Started with Duolingo before I got too committed to the language, confirmed I was interested and dedicated to daily learning and so got a textbook that had available audio (often found on youtube after some digging), and saw the most improvement when I joined a language site that had lessons. I now also have a tutor from verbling.com which offers some good prices (depending on the language you learn) and a good... Source: over 2 years ago

  • Is this wrong? If so, why?
Russian word order is very flexible but not random; it's influenced by tone/register (formal? informal? Emotionally colored somehow?) and context (what's already been talked about, vs. new information). Unfortunately, there's no way that Duolingo's isolated sentences, with no hint of context or tone, can account for this. If you continue with Duolingo (I'd suggest you look at mangolanguages.com , which is free... Source: 10 months ago
  • language learning apps
Mango Languages might be good for them. Check with your library to see if you can get free access because it's free through many libraries. There's an app for it too. There's also Destinos for Spanish and NHK has a Japanese course. For ASL, there's ASL University. EdX and Alison have courses too, but they may be for an older audience. All of the ones I mentioned are free. Source: 12 months ago
  • I feel like doulingo is lying to me
In general, be ready for Russian to express things differently from English. Similarly, Как вас зовут? = What's your name? But как is not 'what,' вас is not 'your,' and зовут is not 'name' – the Russian is literally 'how you they call.' Whether Duolingo will explain those things is another matter... Mango languages does a better job of that IMO. Source: 12 months ago
  • "Could you repeat that?"
Mango Languages have this feature where you can align your own recording with that of a native. So no more a computer that judges you, you do it yourself. Just align the sounds and see if they sound the same when played at the same time. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Advice on Homeschooling my Little Brother
The school not having an ESL program for your cousin is a bit concerning but, there are ways to help him learn. You should check with the local library to see which resources they have available. My library gives access to Mango Languages and Transparent Language, which are pretty good for learning the basics of a new language quickly. I also found some websites here and here that may be helpful for him, and this... Source: about 1 year ago
