Utreon is still in the Beta phase as of June of 2021. So comparing it to Vimeo is like comparing a pedigree puppy to a full blown show dog. Utreon's strength is in its potential.
Melon is an awesome app that not only allows you to meet for private video calls, but it also allows you to broadcast to Facebook, Youtube, etc. for larger audiences. Super user-friendly and customizable! Love it!
My experience with Melon has been amazing. Melon lets me livestream my broadcast and invite multiple guests with just one click. Definitely worth the price to let me stream to multiple destinations at the same time, I can broadcast my stream to YouTube and Facebook for my audience on multiple platforms!
I was streaming on Melon in less than a minute. It's extremely easy to start, very simple to invite guests, and they just added themes! Highly recommended!
Melon App might be a bit more popular than Utreon. We know about 8 links to it since March 2021 and only 6 links to Utreon. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
I wrote an article on Medium on Utreon, a free-speech YouTube alternative that is currently in beta, but you can send a proper email to the people in charge to set up your channel on their platform. They can even sync your YouTube channel to the platform with your videos being copied over to their platform in case anything happens on YouTube. If you want to try it out, here is the url: https://utreon.com/. Source: almost 2 years ago
I've seen some movement (e.g Forgotten Weapons) towards Utreon, which combines patreon-style subscription with video hosting. Source: about 2 years ago
Now that the dislike button has been removed, for anyone thinking now is a good time to leave YouTube, thereβs a platform called Ultreon with a user interface very similar to YouTubeβs, especially from 2014-2016ish, with almost none of the restrictions. No ad support at this time but they are working on acquiring that and only need more users on their website Https://utreon.com. Source: over 2 years ago
I think I found today what I am looking for. https://utreon.com/ looks to be a close contender to what I seek. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
Utreon.com could be an option. One thing is, my ad blockers run so deep that if they are throwing ads willy-nilly onto videos I would likely not be able to tell, same as youtube. Source: almost 3 years ago
I'm using https://melonapp.com for any kind of streaming and stream recording in my startup. And yes: it costs money, if want to use all of it's features. Source: over 1 year ago
Does anyone know of a self-hosted alternative to https://melonapp.com/ / https://golightstream.com/. Source: over 1 year ago
In the meantime, Melon App is a convenient online podcasting solution made by Streamlabs that's a great solution: https://melonapp.com/. Source: over 1 year ago
Some may not use Streamlabs Desktop at all, there are web-based podcast streaming tools like Melon that have automatic/responsive layouts that change bages on the number of guests or if one is sharing their screen. Source: about 2 years ago
We use Melon for this exact purpose. It leverages the teachers Google account to stream, but also allows some easy personalization with tickers and stuff. Source: over 2 years ago
