  • How Warp Works
The reason you don’t see a feature like blocks (with the exception of Upterm) in most other terminals is because the terminal has no concept of what program is running, or really of anything that’s happening within the shell. At a high level, a terminal reads and writes bytes from a pseudoterminal to interact with the shell. This technology is very antiquated--the shell essentially thinks it is interacting with a... - Source: dev.to / about 2 years ago
  • User Friendliness and Terminals
Suprised that no one has mentioned this, but upterm seems to be exactly what you're describing--a terminal emulator that shows a drop-down list of suggestions with explanations. Sadly, only a few commands are supported, and it's no longer being worked on. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Termy - A terminal with autocomplete
Currently haven't gone as far as making some kind of dedicated shell component though. I find it important that normal shells can work fine with in Extraterm. There was a project from a few years back which also mashed GUI/emulator together with the shell side, Upterm. SSH and containers tend to be the natural enemy of having your own shell though. • Mimic Touch Bar screenshot functionality on non-touch bar M1 MacBook Pro
If you want a fake (yet fully functional) touchbar on your screen, you could use something like: https://github.com/sindresorhus/touch-bar-simulator (I used that for a while on my 2017 mbp). Source: 10 months ago
  • Picture-in-picture for all videos that works on Safari 15 / Monterey?
Baking soda or Fulifier would on most sites but not iPlayer apparently. However (without any need for an extension) I can use PIP on any compatible website via the button on my touchbar. Perhaps until you find an extension, use touch-bar-simulator? Source: over 1 year ago
  • Why does my new M1 Pro MacBook think it has a touch bar?
Did you try a restart? It’s bizarre that’s it’s using so much virtual memory too. Only thing I could think of it virtual Touch Bar simulator, but I think you would probably know if you were using that lol. Is it possible there’s an app doing something similar? Also, side note, what do you use to rearrange your menu bar? It looks great. Source: over 2 years ago

I use this one.. Works fine.. Https://github.com/sindresorhus/touch-bar-simulator. Source: almost 3 years ago
