7 Best 3D Modeling Programs Like SketchUp | EASY RENDER
Blender isn’t quite as straightforward in terms of toolset as SketchUp, but it’s pretty darn close. But, that’s an easy concession to make when you consider everything else the program offers. Not only is it a proper 3D modeler, it has a fully integrated rendering engine that stands tall against programs like vRay, Maxwell, or Lumion. Blender is a one-stop-shop that...

Unigine mentions (3)

  • Do Unity 3D have some pros against strong 3D in Unreal?
So you consider an engine "professional" if your favourite big PC games run on it? What sort of logic is this? I suppose enterprise-geared engines like UEngine aren't "professional" either because they aren't popular with game developers? - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
  • What software should I use to create the fabric of space?
Since you're new to programming I hesistate to recommend this, but Unigine is a good fit for what you want to do -- it's developed for simulations, has a killer physics engine that can do all that stuff, and is very good at replicating real-world environments. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago

Blender mentions (30)

  • Old and Busted vs New Hotness?
If you're looking for something a bit more freeform/artistic, Blender is a fantastic place to start, in my opinion. It's a little tougher to get exact measurements for some things (mostly due to it being for modeling and animation, not engineering, so internal units and scaling can throw things off) but it can be done. - Source: Reddit / 14 days ago
  • I stumbled across this sub and I love it!
The most popular are Blender, ZBrush, Maya, Maxon Cinema4D, Houdini, Nomad Sculpt, and a few others. If you are totally new to the field I’d suggest trying out Blender, because it is totally free, very powerful, and has a huge supportive community with a ton of online tutorials available. It can be intimidating at first, but you’ll pick it up. Get started at blender.org. - Source: Reddit / 15 days ago
  • Shipyard but with realistic textures | made in blender
Idk, this wasnt made with the editor, it was made in blender, you can download it at blender.org ,its a free 3d software :D. - Source: Reddit / 17 days ago
  • Looking For a Suggestion For a good animation software to make animations
Blender (http://blender.org) is free 3d animation software suite that can also do 2d (drawn) animations. Being primarily a 3d suite that also allows 2d drawings in 3d space might be overwhelm you at first. There are better tools out there for strictly 2d drawings, but I think its worth a mention due to being free and having a large community (lots of tutorials on YouTube/etc). - Source: Reddit / 19 days ago
  • How would coding a generator , like the one used to generate CryptoPunks and other similar digital art , work ?
There are open source projects that implement various forms of procedural generation like Blender. So search around and you will find plenty of examples. - Source: Reddit / 21 days ago
