TinyProxy Reviews

  1. It was easier to install and use than expected

Super simple and straight to the point. All I had to do, in a linux server, was this:

    • install it => apt install tinyproxy
    • configure hosts allowed to connect
    • reload configs => service tinyproxy reload
🏁 Competitors: banu.com TinyProxy, Squid Proxy
👍 Pros:    Super simple|Easy to use

  • Web Debugging Proxy to Remove Headers from Incoming Requests
I found Privoxy, and it seems to do what I want, so maybe wondering if anyone would be eager to recommend. There is also Tinyproxy, but it can only add headers not remove them. Source: 6 months ago
  • Chromium Spelunking: Connecting to Proxies
To test proxying,I'm using tinyproxy, running a very simple config on port 8080. This supports SPDY (HTTP/2), which is a complication I don't really want to consider at this point, but the analysis ends up quite similar to HTTP/1. - Source: dev.to / 8 months ago

  • How to share docker VPN connection
When you run the proxy container, you'll need to run it using --network=container: which will cause it to share the VPN secured network from your VPN client container. The kind of proxy you run will depend on what proxy settings your devices support. If your devices support SOCKS then you would run a SOCKS proxy which is capable of re-routing all of your device's network traffic to the proxy and, therefor, your... Source: about 2 years ago

  • New Firefox privacy feature strips URLs of tracking parameters
Firefox + uBlock Origin on mobile is great but Bromite is the way to go. Faster, more secure and built-in ad-blocking. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Stop it Reddit
Why are you using chrome though? Chrome, google app and facebook are literally the biggest trackers you need to block. Try firefox or it's forks (fennec/mull) or bromite. Bromite is based on chromium so it will be an easy switch. I personally use fennec f-droid (a fork of firefox) which is available on f-droid. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Breeze Browsers.
Cookie AutoDelete can be replaced with an always-on incognito mode similar to what Bromite has. Though I can understand keeping this one in as it gives finer control over cookies than incognito mode. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Import bookmarks into Vanadium browser?
I don't think you can do that at the moment. Bromite has an import/export bookmarks feature but I don't know if you will be able to import your existing file. Source: over 2 years ago
