Questions and Answers

As answered by people managing TinyLetter and Icypeas.

What makes your product unique?

Icypeas's answer:

Icypeas has an unparalleled capacity to verify catch-all emails. It allows you to reach out to untapped leads.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Icypeas's answer:

Icypeas is a good choice if you care about email discovery rate and bounce rate.

Honest drawbacks: - we are not an all-in-one platform like Apollo.io, which is a lead database, an enrichment tool and an outreach solution, whereas Icypeas focusses on enrichment only. - our response time (for an email search) is between 1 and 5 minutes. It is longer than all our competitors. This is true for single searches, not for bulk searches. When it comes to bulk searches, we are way faster than the competition (because we have a huge capacity to parallelize requests).

How would you describe your primary audience?

Icypeas's answer:

Salespeople in B2B SaaS companies and lead generation agencies.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Icypeas's answer:

Node.js, Vue.js, Elasticsearch, MongoDB. We plan to replace Node with Rust soon.

Oh God, It's Raining Newsletters - by Craig Mod
Buttondown is a (somewhat) recently launched NAAS built by a very engaged developer, beautifully designed, that looks like it might be the new TinyLetter. Subscription integrations forthcoming (eating into Substack territory?). This is probably where I’d start if I were starting a public newsletter today.

An Alternative for TinyLetter
TinyLetter users were quick to mourn the shutdown of the service. The reactions mostly expressed sadness. TinyLetter’s simplicity and intimacy were strong selling points to the artists, writers and other members of the creative class that relied on it.
