The next problem is where are you going to get historic data? For stocks you can use a provider like Norgate - good but expensive, or tiingo.com. You could backtest a directional trade and then execute it with credit spreads, for example. If you want historic option chain data that is going to be huge and expensive. I can share some of my history from my trades with Tradier and their trades are cleared (handled) by apex clearing which should allow you to support a number of different brokers at the same time if you can handle their formatting. Source: over 1 year ago
