   Straightforward to use and powerful API to get financial data in real-time and complete historical data. Best in class Python package.

• For any programmers or quants here, I’m getting into programming. Is there a best code for automated trading? Quant trading? Is python better than JS? Is it more about knowing what you’re doing as opposed to which code you’re using? Thx!

  The next problem is where are you going to get historic data? For stocks you can use a provider like Norgate - good but expensive, or tiingo.com. You could backtest a directional trade and then execute it with credit spreads, for example. If you want historic option chain data that is going to be huge and expensive. I recommend ivolatility.com and they usually have some sort of "black friday sale" around now. ... Source: over 1 year ago

  I looked into the code and found that it uses twelvedata.com for the api. I registered there to test it out but with the free api key you can not get the price for silver it seems?
