I think all programmers have had annoyed with environment installation at one time or another, and Tin has saved us a lot of time. When I first heard about Tin, I looked forward to it and tried to open some projects like GitLab-CE with Tin. In short, the overall use feels good.

Have you checked out Theme Lab? If you are having any underlying issues non-related to your setup this would iron them out. I'd try to setup a dummy theme and see if its something terminal/CLI related or something misconfigured on your partner end/shopify side. Source: over 3 years ago
You should check out UI crooks theme lab. I've taken 2 stores built with Slate v0 and upgraded them to a modern workflow where I was able to drop the whole repo for the old v0 into UI crooks and sort of sunset the old method of using Slate.
