A genuine question: why is it that most open source email clients have websites that look like they were put together by Tim Berners Lee, as a test of "this web thing"? Here is another one https://sylpheed.sraoss.jp/en/. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago

Sylpheed[0] was my favourite e-mail client, of which Claws Mail is a fork. [0] https://sylpheed.sraoss.jp/en/. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
For simplicity as this is a "senior" who is looking for an old fashioned interface maybe try: https://sylpheed.sraoss.jp/en/. Source: about 2 years ago
I had have a little problem recently with the email dates in the app, some emails do not show a date, says "(no date)", or somehow show the date with wrong format, ie, "17-Abr-2021". Tried to look for help in the program page https://sylpheed.sraoss.jp/en/ but the forums and wiki are full of spam. Source: almost 3 years ago
I love Mailspring, it's modern and open source: https://getmailspring.com/ The UI uses Electron, but the actual sync engine is in C++, so it's pretty fast. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
The only app I’m aware of which translates emails is this; https://getmailspring.com. Source: about 1 year ago
Mailspring is quite nice. It also has a paid version and is actively updated so I think it's likely to stick around for awhile. Source: about 1 year ago
Mailspring, which is open source, is currently my recommendation for a desktop email client. Source: about 1 year ago
Mailspring. Open-source and fully local, but an optional account and optional subscription for premium cloud-based features. Thunderbird was too cluttered and Geary, although I really wanted to like it, was just too minimal. Source: over 1 year ago
