• First time at a Mac/Google shop - teach me your ways

  Superpowered - Gives me a great calendar widget in the taskbar that provides notifications 10min & 1min ahead of upcoming meetings. Also allows you to join meetings with keyboard shortcuts (Command+Y & Command+J). Just note that they implemented some REALLY crappy spam-marketing stuff that can email meeting participants on your behalf - make sure you disable that in the settings immediately.   I was looking through some Y Combinator startups' websites and came across this. I thought the opening graphic sequence with the calendar notifications + minimizing into the menu bar looked pretty nice. I was then wondering whether this animation sequence could have been created solely through CSS/JS or whether it's just created through something like PS/Illustrator. • Calendar advice for home + work?

  I use an app called Fantastical (https://flexibits.com/fantastical). I believe it is macOS/iOS only, but there might be alternatives with work with other systems. Basically, I add in my work Office365 account and my personal iCloud and it shows everything together. Whenever I'm making an appointment, I just check that rather than my Outlook calendar. • Sick of Fastmails subpar iOS app

  Looks like most of your issues are with the calendar. For this I highly recommend an app dedicated to this, like Fantastical, BusyCal, Calendar366 or even a native ios calendar app. These apps have clients for ios, macos and even watchos. • Productivity apps - recommendations needed

  I personally have been trying out Fantastical and it literally is life changing doing everything in a calendar. You can make a recurring event or something and have it notify you whenever you want. The time limit can be achieved by just creating the duration. Although I'm unsure about the "mark as done" functionality. Source: about 1 year ago

• Whats your favourite app that can work as a calendar and also effectively time-block out tasks?

  By 2022, I was hot and heavy on Todoist. It seemed like a great solution and had a ton of integrations, but it lacked in a few areas. There was no calendar view in the app. That’s not so bad, since I do most of the scheduling in Google Calendar. But it is a little tough when try to add to-dos and see where they fit into your schedule (time blocking). Also, Todoist has this whole “thing” about being minimalist, but... Source: over 1 year ago
