I use an app to check system temps: OpenHardwareMonitor. Some people like SpeedFan, does most of the same stuff. Source: over 1 year ago
That's not super common (but it does happen ofc). It might be worth running a tool to scan the drive and take a peek at the SMART data. I typically use Speedfan https://almico.com/speedfan.php. Source: over 1 year ago
You'll get better gpu support from Afterburner, but if you have a weird chipset or an incompatible fan controller, good old SpeedFan still has a few tricks. Source: over 1 year ago
Check disk health with speedfan from http://almico.com/speedfan.php. Source: over 2 years ago
Speedfan Freeware gives you some info about your temps, but its mostly used to set up your custom fan control, such as increasing rpm of your front intake fans when temp of GPU and/or CPU reaches a certain point and much more, how much you can do with it depends on the fan controller chip that is used on your mainboard, so you mileage may vary. This app completely reversed my hatred of the 2015 MacBook Pro: http://tbswitcher.rugarciap.com. Source: 10 months ago
I have the 15-inch 2015 MBPro. The fan noise was iNsAnE. I was able to fix it using Turbo Boost Switcher. A replacement battery can be purchased for less than $100. Installing it isn't super easy but it's totally doable with some patience and persistence. Good luck! Source: about 1 year ago
I’ve got a yellow coloured MacBook Pro plastic case that reflects sun. I also turn off turbo power boost (if yours is an Intel model it may do this). Close everything else and run waveform drawing speed at medium or slow. http://tbswitcher.rugarciap.com. Source: about 1 year ago

This is a constant issue and I use this App for the last three MacBooks I have owned. (I have not entered the M1 chip era yet). http://tbswitcher.rugarciap.com. Source: over 1 year ago
