  • 4 Issues with my Macbook Pro 2015 . Get it repaired or just get a new one?
I have the 15-inch 2015 MBPro. The fan noise was iNsAnE. I was able to fix it using Turbo Boost Switcher. A replacement battery can be purchased for less than $100. Installing it isn't super easy but it's totally doable with some patience and persistence. Good luck! Source: 12 months ago
  • Summer is coming…
I’ve got a yellow coloured MacBook Pro plastic case that reflects sun. I also turn off turbo power boost (if yours is an Intel model it may do this). Close everything else and run waveform drawing speed at medium or slow. http://tbswitcher.rugarciap.com. Source: about 1 year ago

  • Need help switching from Windows to Mac
Even if you find a way, don't bother. Macos knows when to kick in the GPU and when it should be put to rest. 12.0 added low power mode, and you can use Turbo Boost Switcher to make the fans quieter and battery consumption lower at the cost of CPU performance. Source: over 1 year ago
  • I have a 2019 MacBook Pro ‘16
Get a laptop stand for your laptop on your bed. You can also download Turbo Boost Switcher for your Intel based MacBook if you're just doing standard stuff to prevent the CPU from boosting on otherwise normal tasks (web browsing, music and video playback). Performance will of course be slightly lessened because of this but it will keep the processor from ramping up too much for that normal business. Source: almost 2 years ago

Not sure if this is what you’re looking for but I used something called Turbo Boost Switcher when I had my 2012 MBP. Source: almost 2 years ago

I’ve found http://tbswitcher.rugarciap.com/ that can turn of turbo boost on intel macs to be useful when on battery and compiling. Since 100% cpu usage will run at a much lower TDP and not kill my laptop battery as fast. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
