Not to draw attention away from OP's definitely awesome project, but smashrun offers a similar github-esque visualizer that connects with Strava or Garmin. OP's product does provide year over year comparison with every day shown which is nice and OP's is just generally better to look at IMO. Source: about 1 year ago
If you want to gamify your exercise in the real world, there are tons of options there too. You can play AR games like Ingress or Pokémon Go to get you outside, or try a physical treasure hunt like Geocaching or orienteering.
