  1. Exceptional for what its doing

Was looking for an alternative for OneNote, so I found it here. I like how simple the interface is and the UI is very simple. It's good for what it is, but there is no sorting/topic system which makes it difficult to find specific notes for specific topics. Other than that, it's a good note system.

    🏁 Competitors: OneNote, Evernote
    👍 Pros:    Lots of functionalities|Easy user interface|Easy to use|Simple
👎 Cons:    No groups for notes|No sorting notes

It's not perfect, but I use https://simplenote.com/ Someday I will build my own clone of Simplenote/Notational Velocity/Taskpaper/Drafts/Bkmks.com... 1. Note nvUltra, the successor to this program, has been in development/private beta for several years[1,2]. I've been meaning to make my own web-based version of Notational Velocity that adds a few novel features of my own. • Ask HN: Apple Notes has jumped the shark, what should I replace it with?
I'm still happy with Apple Notes for its integration with all of Apple Apps, easy sharing with family members, etc. I have tamed it more as an ephemeral and quick Notes App. The notes that starts there are usually transferred to a more permanent and organized Plain-Text setup[1] (currently guardian-ed by Obsidian). If I had to replace Apple Notes, I'd look at either one of these; - https://simplenote.com -... - Source: Hacker News / 24 days ago

I had to open up the "chat" and accept. I received no notification. I responded there but it appears that screenshot is from manualslib.com which doesn't have a manual for my bike. Source: 10 months ago
  • Help choosing between 3 sewing machines I found!
By the time the 514 was built, Singer had gone heavily into plastic gears, and the 514 has several. They usually last 30-40 years, though with excellent care they may last a bit longer. Trouble is that once the gears have to be replaced, it costs far more than the machine is worth because the whole machine has to be recalibrated and the person who does that work is fighting against the idiosyncratic wear... As a total aside. The SY77 and SY99 op & midi manuals are much better on manualslib.com than the official Yamaha website with significantly better diagram scan quality + sort of okay OCR. Source: 11 months ago
  • Canon PowerShot A580
Cool! If you have the manual, too, I would first use it to get familiar with the controls. Shame on Canon for not providing this anymore for very old cameras; you can get it online, however, from manualslib.com . Then, personally, I would take the ISO to 100, or even 80, if that looks better. Usually on these old cameras, ISO at levels higher than like 200 make your photos look like they came from a security... Source: about 1 year ago
  • How bad did i do? (£5)
Sometimes free service manuals are available at manualslib.com and the site is nice because the manuals are easily searchable. I don't find anything relevant ATM for models 6233/34/35. Archive.org can also be a source, but they are best searched externally, and for me, the listings will be down the page below more commercial sources. Again, no luck this time. Commercial sources have to be approached with care... Source: about 1 year ago
