I have a new windows 10 and downloaded the Coursier installer from scala-lang.org, the https://docs.scala-lang.org/getting-started/index.html says that you should have either java8 or java11 installed but most tutorials online and posts says to install latest version of java, which java jdk version should I install or does Coursier install it for me or do I choose the latest jdk (java-jdk-19)? Try manually installing sbt without coursier. The instructions are on https://scala-lang.org. Source: over 1 year ago
I had met the core developers, we had discussing a lot about which technology would better address our demand and, after many considerations, we had chosen Scala. - Source: dev.to / about 2 years ago
I like scala. It combines object-oriented and functional programming into one high-level language, which makes it fun to learn. I don't know if it is popular in the robotics industry, but it runs on the jvm and can be combined with java, so there is that. I recommend the book "programming scala". Source: over 2 years ago
Scala with the Typelevel ecosystem. Stay on the jVM, but have a much more pleasant and robust experience, including a great REPL. Source: about 3 years ago
A big part of my work revolves around JavaScript tooling, and as such it's important to keep an eye on the ecosystem and see where things are going. It's no secret that recently lots of projects are native-ying (??) parts of their codebase, or even rewriting them to native languages altogether. Esbuild is one of the first popular and successful examples of this, which was written in Go. Other examples are Rspack... - Source: dev.to / 2 days ago
Do you use Prettier? Have your configuration settings caused weird HTML rendering issues by adding extra whitespace where you didn't want it? Perhaps after an anchor link at the end of a paragraph? Me, too. Here's what's happening and how you might be able to fix it. - Source: dev.to / 10 days ago
In this post, I also use ESLint + Standard JS as my code formatting tools. Formatting JS/TS code by using ESLint is also subjective and opinionated, arguably most people would rather use Prettier instead, which provides more configurable options. - Source: dev.to / 17 days ago
Automating code checks with static code analysis allows us to enforce code styling effectively. By integrating tools into our workflow, we can identify errors at an early stage, while coding instead of blocking us at the end. For instance, flake8 checks Python code for style and errors, eslint performs similar checks for JavaScript, and prettier automatically formats code to maintain consistency. - Source: dev.to / 30 days ago
So anyways, I wanted to hook up Emacs with Astro support. For now, I've just been roughing it out there and running Prettier by itself and turning off save on format and auto-complete. It's been scary. - Source: dev.to / about 1 month ago
