Campflare is a free service that will send you a text when someone cancels their campground reservation.

We need to talk about campground reservations. Bots and scalpers have plagued our National Parks and public lands by purchasing reservations as soon as they become available. Tech should not decide who and who doesn't get to enjoy the outdoors. It's time for a change. Regulation and captchas are not the solution — tech will always find a way around it. The only way to stop the scalpers is to drown them out. Campflare is a free service that will send you a text or email when a campground becomes available. It's free, and it always will be.

  • My 25+ year old bed is breaking and I have no idea how to get it out and a new one in
I think it might show some of your information. But you could check out Rooster which will keep your info private. You can ask for physical help or ask for a nice used mattress or bed. Rooster keeps your address private. https://therooster.co/. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Is there any queer-friendly affordable housing in Portland?
I would also highly recommend checking out [The Rooster]The Rooster which is kinda similar to Craigslist but everything is free. Wouldn’t necessarily bank on that one for housing (doesn’t hurt to keep an eye out though!) but pretty much anything else can be found there! Source: about 2 years ago
  • What to cook for 2 weeks with just 6 euros?
In the US most neighborhoods have a free group called Rooster. You can ask for anything or give anything. The people in these groups are generous and want to help others. Maybe you have something similar in your location. https://therooster.co/. Simply state your broke and need food, and you will get offers. Source: over 2 years ago

Https://campflare.com/ it will tell you when camp sites open up due to people dropping. It will send you a text and a email. There is also an app, that I like better. It’s all free. Source: about 1 year ago

  • Does anyone know when campsites get refreshed on recreation.gov? They open available at 7am pst, but what time should I check for reserved campsites that get canceled? Is that updated as soon as it’s canceled or the next day at 7am also?
Use https://campflare.com/, it will text you when a site is opened due to cancellation. Source: over 1 year ago
  • How do you book your campgrounds?
I’ve experienced the same frustration in California. I don’t think there’s much reselling as you can’t transfer a reservation in most places, but I have met some technical people who have built bots for themselves and friends. I remember when I was young and my mom would always refresh the reservation page every day and manage to find a site eventually when someone cancels. However this doesn’t happen much more as... • Booking through recreation.gov - question/suggestions
I have never done this personally, yet I have heard about people trying this to circumvent the system. In my opinion, this is the exact reason why its hard to find a site in the first place. It is a downward spiral. People are worried about getting a site/don't know when they can make it so they overbook, then this leads to more people doing the same until almost no one can reserve for their ideal dates. I would... Source: over 1 year ago
