We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
This is a pretty narrow (but existing) field. You have companies like https://humanyze.com/ which deal with white collar workplaces. Then you have a ton of retail analytics companies observing both the employees and customers like https://retailnext.net/. Initially, we used it to create a t-shirt customization component for one of the Premier League football clubs and host product images.
