Since FastAPI is just a web framework, it can be used with nearly any DB/NoSQL DB framework that supports Python and your O/S and database driver of choice. Others have mentioned MongoDB and associated PyMongo derivatives, which is probably going to be your main option. Yes. A Lightroom catalog file is, after all, just a SQLite database. (Srsly, make a copy of your catalog file, rename it whatever.sqlite and use your favorite SQLite GUI to rip it open and look at the tables and fields).
