I've only ever had a positive experience with Air BnB, granted I've only used it elsewhere in Europe and not the UK, but I've found them excellent. Booked a two bedroom flat in Prague which ended up only being a one bedroom with a sofa bed and got 50% refund on return. They give you a quite thorough understanding in all the fundamentals and they have labs set up where you can practice everything you learn at each step.
