If you're wanting campgrounds then I check recreation.gov and reserveamerica.com. For some state parks, you have to reserve online by midnight the night before. Others you can book same day. If you're down for an older-style roguelike, Dungeon Crawl: Stone Soup is free and it's optimal for a keyboard that has a 10-key (numpad) for movement.
